What's Rock Camp?
Rock Camp for Girls is a 5 day music camp where girls learn and practice instruments, form a band and write a song together, and perform at the Showcase Concert! Rock Camp is a space where girls discover and express their talents, and become leaders in creating their own kind of music!
What to expect
Rock Camp for Girls is a 5 day music camp for girls aged 10-17. During your week at Rock Camp for Girls you will learn and practice instruments, form a band and write a song together, and perform at the Showcase Concert on the Saturday following camp. Female musicians will offer music instruction, technical and sound instruction, and coach your band during band practices. The instrument choices are guitar, bass, drums, keyboards or you can practice your vocals.
In addition to working on music, we offer workshops about self-esteem and leadership development. Topics that have been offered at Rock Camps include self-defense, ‘zine making, media literacy and critical thinking, do it yourself booking, silk-screening, image and identity.
This is a great chance to meet other girls and musicians in the Montreal community and show off your new skills! You don’t need any previous music experience to apply.
Who Can apply?
Any girl who will be between the ages of 10 and 17 at the time of camp may apply. You do not have to live in Montreal to attend*. You do not need to have any musical experience or own instruments to attend! Rock Camp for Girls Montreal welcomes campers who identify as female, trans, and gender non-conforming.
Please note that Rock Camp for Girls Montréal is run primarily as an Anglophone space. We recognize and value the need to have a bilingual camp in Montréal, and are working towards making this a reality for coming years. We encourage all campers to apply and will do our best to meet language needs through bilingual facilitation or English to French whispered translation.
Rock Camp for Girls Montreal aims to keep its programming accessible to all campers regardless of their economic situation. We offer partial or full scholarships, simply fill out and attach the scholarship form with your application.
*If you live outside of the Montreal area and are applying to Rock Camp for Girls Montreal, please note that we are unable to accommodate out-of-town campers this year. All lodging, food and transportation needs are the campers’ responsibility.

Tuition
The cost of tuition for one week at Rock Camp for Girls Montreal is $300. We also have a limited amount of funds set aside to offer partial and full scholarships for campers.
